Auditions

If you want a boost to your career in the entertainment industry, gain exposure for your hidden talents or you just simply want to perform because you love the stage - audition to be a part of an Azure Entertainment Variety Show!

Here's what you need to know to be involved:

  • Acts/Performances should be no longer than 10 minutes
  • All performers must be aged 16 years or over
  • A maximum of 15 - 20 people are allowed in each performance (depending on the type of performance. Obviously if the act involves a lot of acrobatic movements that require large spaces, less people will be allowed in the performance due to stage limitations).
  • Acts must not involve any discriminatory, racist or derogatory material which may offend audience members
  • Performers MUST ensure they are available on both the audition day and the day of the show (Note: Full dress rehearsal is scheduled during the day before the actual show). If performers are not available they must tell us ASAP so we can offer their spot to someone else
  • Performers are expected to provide their own costumes, equipment and/or instruments. However, there may be a few items we can provide if sufficient notice is given. This must be requested on the audition application
  • Fire Performers: Please note that due to the safety regulations of some venues certain fire acts may not be allowed. Depending on the venue we make ask you to tailor your act to suit. Alternatively we may ask you to participate in a later show where the venue can cater for more extreme uses of fire.
  • Performers may or may not be paid for their participation in the show. This is dependent on the performer's level of experience and professionalism in their discipline (i.e. amateurs or first-time performers will not likely be paid, but may still be offered a spot in the show to allow them the opportunity for more exposure in the industry). Payment and/or rate of payment is negotiated after your audition is deemed successful. Those who are not paid for the show may still be offered paid opportunities with Azure Entertainment after the show if the performer agrees. To be eligible for paid opportunities this option must be selected when completing the registration form
  • Regular shows (every 2-3 months) will be held so if the performer/s doesn't get in the first time they are welcomed to audition again, especially if they have more great ideas for an act or performance. There is no limit to the amount of shows they can audition for!
  • Depending on the performance venue, there may be certain acts that will not be showcased due to safety restrictions. If this is the case with your act, we will be in contact to discuss
  • Please be aware that our selection criteria are based on a number of factors ranging from entertainment value, suitability for show/venue, talent, originality, variety etc. If an act or performance is not selected for a particular show, it could just simply mean we have too many of same particular genre performing in the one show already - in which case we may ask the performers to join us in our next show!
